1 . When is the U.S. Embassy changing its appointment procedures? 
     New non-immigrant visa appointment scheduling procedures will take effect on Aug 1, 2006.  

2 . Why is the U.S. Embassy changing its appointment procedures now? 
Following a thorough review of its operations, the Embassy wishes to improve its appointment scheduling procedures by making the process more convenient for the Sri Lankan public. Now, applicants for U.S. visas will be able to choose between five different methods of scheduling their appointments, instead of the previous system of fax-only appointments. The U.S. Embassy remains committed to one-day interview processing and this new appointment procedure will make daily processing more efficient. Furthermore, the public will have a dedicated inquiry line to answer any questions they may have about scheduling their appointment or general visa matters.

3.How do I get an application form?
Application Forms: Applicants are strongly encouraged to use the Consular Electronic Application website https://ceac.state.gov/GENNIV to complete DS 160 online Application Form. Please complete the from and fax the confirmation page to our office for scheduling appointments.

Please use Electronic Visa Application form(EVAF)  DS 156 for E and K visas DS 156 available online at http://evisaforms.state.gov/. Please complete the application form and fax the  form and fax it to our office.

TTS office could assist non immigrant visa applicants to complete DS160, upload photo and print their Confirmation page for a nominal fee of Rs.500/- per application with effect from March 15 2010. This optional service is not mandatory and that the fee of Rs.500/- is not part of the fee for US visa services.

 
4.1.How can I schedule an appointment for a Non-Immigrant Visa interview?
You can book your appointment either in person, by mail/Courier, by fax, by email, or by using our online appointment facility. Please check the Appointment Process link in our home page for further information.

5.How do I pay the service fee?
In addition to visa fee for mail/courier applicants has to pay a non refundable service fee of Rs 600/- to TT Services Lanka Ltd. Fees are to be paid in Sri Lankan Rupees only by bank draft drawn in favor of TT Services Lanka Ltd made payable in Colombo. For direct submission at our office you can pay the service fee by cash. Please note our office will not accept personal cheque.(Note: Service Fee for Family Group: Two parents traveling together with at least one child under the age of 14 years old can pay a single service fee of Rs. 600/-. This service fee will cover up to four (4) applicants total; any additional travelers in the family group will be required to pay the individual service fee.)


For Fax/Email applications-Procedure to pay the fee at Commercial Bank

  • Please visit your nearest Commercial Bank.

  • Please fill-up Cash Credit Slip for each passport number. Please make sure that your name, Passport numbers are clearly written in the payment slip. Please check the sample payment slip in  Our Service Fee  link.

  • TTS Service Fee payment should be deposited in our account number 1480028621.

  • Payment once made will not be refunded.

  • Please make sure that the payment slip for each payment is faxed to our office.

6.Can I still schedule an appointment in person or by telephone?  
You can schedule an appointment in person at the TT Services Lanka office. However, no appointment scheduling is available over the telephone.

7.What forms are required? 
You must complete the online Visa Application form DS-160 and submit the confirmation page with barcode together with your photo image. If applicable, you must also submit specialized forms like I-20, I-797 etc. Please refer to Application Form link in our home page.

8.Where should I fax my visa application? 
Please fax the confirmation page of DS 160 visa application form to TT Services Lanka office. Please check the Contact Info page for our fax number.

9.How will I know if I have been scheduled for an interview?
The final confirmed non-immigrant visa interview appointment receipt given to you is a proof of your appointment.

10.What do I do if I need to change my appointment date?

If you are confirmed applicant then you are allowed to modify or cancel your appointment. Please check the modify/cancel appointment links in our home page for further information. This facility is provided only once.

11.What happens if I miss my appointment?
A missed appointment will require to follow the appointment booking process once again, which will take five to ten working days to reschedule and the TT Services fee need to be paid once again.

12.Do these procedures apply to immigrant visa applicants?
No. These procedures apply only to an application for a non-immigrant visa.
